PRCI-Bangalore Chapter Invites Entries for Essay Competition From Students in Bangalore

Greetings from Public Relations Council of India, Bangalore Chapter.

The Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) is a registered corporate body of professionals in the field of PR, Advertising, Media, Brand Management and Academicians, established to enrich professional development and networking opportunities for higher standards of PR practice.

PRCI conducts Workshops, Conventions and Seminars regularly through its Chapters spread all over India. PRCI makes an ideal forum for PR practitioners for global exchange of ideas in Corporate Communications, Image Management, Advertising and PR issues. It is a forum where Corporate and Creative minds come together upholding challenges and values of Professionalism in Communications.

We are pleased to inform you that PRCI, Bangalore Chapter invites entries for Essay Competition from students in Bangalore on the occasion of Daughter’s Day being celebrated on 1st July 2009 at the function commemorating the birth anniversary of Kalpana Chawla by honoring the contributions of our daughters to our nation... instilling pride in having a daughter. The winners will be rewarded at the function on 1st JULY attended by prominent women who have made significant contribution to society.

We have shortlisted few NGOs working in the area of women and child welfare. We hope to identify the most promising of these to support and highlight their cause with our activities in the coming year to ensure the well being of the daughters of the nation, especially from weaker sections of society.

The Essay Competition will be open for students in the age group of 14- 20 years in Category One and 21-23 years in Category Two who are residing in Bangalore City only. The winners - first, second and a consolation will be rewarded cash prizes of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively on 1st July. The last date for submission of entries is June 25, 2009.

The topics for the essay competition are:
Category One: (Age group of 14- 20 years)
1. Vision of a Daughter – her plans ahead
2. What I learnt from my Mother / Father
3. Only Daughters can provide emotional security to Parents.

Category Two: (Age group of 21- 23 years)
1. How Women are Portrayed in Media and Advertisements
2. Role models for Modern Day Women
3. Career and Family – Responsible Role of a Woman

# Participants have a choice to select ANY ONE of the above Topic in their age group /category
# The essay can be submitted either in English, Kannada or Hindi
# Participants are requested to use specific reasons and examples to support their opinion
# Essay should be approximately 1000 words.
# The entries can either be neatly hand written, typed or printed and can be submitted via post/courier or email.
# The first page of Essay should invariably specify the following details in order :

College Name & Address (along with telephone numbers):
Date of Birth:
Contact Number:
E-Mail id:
Topic Selected:

# There will NO ENTRY FEE.
# The Jury from the field of Communication will judge the entries.
# The winners will be rewarded in the event being celebrated on 1st July ’09.
# The Winning Entries will be published in the PRCI Global Magazine "Chanakya." & National Magazine.
# The Winners- First, Second and a Consolation Prize in each Category will be announced on July 1st 2009 with cash prizes of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 1000/- respectively.
# The last date for submission of entries is June 25, 2009.
# The Winners will be given One Year Free Membership to PRCI.
# Venue for the event will be announced during the last week of June 2009.
